Big Aspirations for our Little Farm in 2026!

A New Chapter Begins in 2026

In 2026, Allan and I are gently steering our Little Farm in a new direction—one that feels deeply aligned with how we love to garden, farm, and share this place. Think fewer straight rows of the same flowers, more winding paths of poly planted flowering perennials, herbs and vegetables. Fewer quick harvests, more long-lasting beauty. More opportunities to learn and engage.

From Annuals to Everlasting

This year you can expect fewer annual flowers but even more permanent installations of flowering perennials—the kind that settle in, return each year, and only get better with time.  Our beloved annuals—sunflowers, dahlias, cosmos, zinnias, and their cheerful friends—aren’t going anywhere. But this year I may have gone a tiny bit overboard bringing in an extraordinary collection of flowering perennials from Terra Nova Nurseries in Oregon to create a demonstration garden and U-Pick experience that will evolve and surprise us season after season.

A Market Garden in Full Swing

We’re also dedicating thirty raised beds and an entire hoop house to growing vegetables, herbs, and edible flowers all available for purchase in our Farm Stand and Farmer’s Market.  The grapes and orchard trees we planted three years ago, are finally producing; fruit that is fresh, fragrant, and grown to be shared.  As visitors wander our garden, they will find posts that serve as bird perches but also signs with QR codes to learn about what is growing and how to purchase the same vegetables, herbs, and flowers in Garden to Go packs found in our Farm Stand.

A Garden for Pollinators and People

All of this means Little Farm is no longer a “typical” flower farm—one that harvests blooms early, before pollination, for longer vase life and distribution to markets. Instead, we’re choosing to let the flowers live a little longer, bloom a little fuller, and do what they do best: feed the bees, butterflies, birds, and all the other tiny visitors that make a garden hum. The result? A place that’s just as nourishing for pollinators as it is for people.

What We Stand For

We are committed to sustainable farming practices.  We provide housing, a living wage and a respectful work environment.  We strive to bring joy to all who visit our farm to purchase organic produce, flowers, and skincare.

  • Utilizing organic compost tea with organic fertilizers, we build healthy soil to support productive flowers.
  • We take a thoughtful and prophylactic approach to disease and pest control so that we don’t inadvertently build super bugs. We do not use pesticides or practices that harm pollinators.
  • We plant acres of trees and flowering perennials and annuals that provide food and habitat for pollinators and birds.
  • Our rock wall terraces were intentionally built to capture and store heat for our wine grapes, while also providing habitat for native bees.
  • Our pond is stocked with algae-eating fish and is designed to capture water, irrigate our farm, and provide water for all life year-round.
  • All packaging for our skincare line is biodegradable and recyclable.
  • Ingredients used in our skincare is organic and our beef tallow is grass-fed, grass finished and 100% USDA Certified Organic.
