BIG HAPPENINGS - LITTLE FARM
More flowers, more beauty, and more moments shared
In 2026, Allan and I are gently steering Little Farm in a new direction—one that feels deeply aligned with how we love to garden, farm, and share this place. Think fewer straight lines, more winding paths. Fewer quick harvests, more long-lasting beauty.
We are busy transforming an entire field into a meandering experience of flowering perennials and thirty raised beds are transitioning to interplanted edible flowers, vegetables and herbs. We growing plants in our nursery to offer Garden to Go collections of veg, herbs and flowering perennials and annuals - everything you see on our farm, you can buy in our nursery.
We will move our You Pick and Farm Stand offerings to a self-serve model based on our faith that people will follow the Golden Rule and enjoy our farm like it's their own to preserve and cherish. And Carol looks forward to many more delightful experiences with you and your loved ones, offering more opportunities for inimate workshops.

FROM ANNUALS TO EVERLASTING
This year we are growing fewer annual flowers and planting even more permanent installations of flowering perennials, flowers that settle in, return each year, and only get better with time. Don’t worry, our beloved annuals such as sunflowers, dahlias, cosmos, zinnias, and their cheerful friends will be here too.
This year Carol has gone a bit overboard bringing in an extraordinary collection of flowering perennials from Oregon's famous Terra Nova Nurseries. Come May we will root about 1,000 of their specialty perennial plugs into our south field, creating a meandering garden experience that will evolve and surprise us all with a flush of flowering perennials, season after season. The remaining Terra Nova plugs will be growing in our greenhouses and offered in our Farm Stand for sale in Garden to Go collections you can plant in your own gardens.

A MARKET GARDEN IN FULL SWING
We’re also dedicating 30 raised beds to vegetables, culinary and medicinal herb collections, and edible flowers. Each day we will harvest from this veg- and herb-focused garden and stock up for purchase in our self-service farm stand; fresh, fragrant, and grown to be shared.
All of this means Little Farm is no longer a “typical” flower farm—one that harvests blooms early, before pollination, for longer vase life and distribution to markets. Instead, we’re choosing to let the flowers live a little longer, bloom a little fuller, and do what they do best: feed the bees, butterflies, birds, and all the other tiny visitors that make a garden hum. The result? A place that’s just as nourishing for pollinators as it is for people.
