Meet Carol and Allan
Carol, a lifelong gardener, has transformed many a home lawn into a gorgeous oasis of flowers, trees and shrubs, all in an effort to support birds and pollinators with habitat, water and food. But Carol’s real delight is the joy her garden creations bring to friends, neighbors and now visitors on Orcas Island who want to immerse themselves in the wonderful world of flowering perennials and annuals. Carol’s amazing and talented husband, Allan, takes Carol’s crazy ideas; artfully building barns, farm stands, hoop houses and innovative irrigation systems to support Carol’s plant addiction. He didn’t even bat-an-eye when Carol discovered hellebores blooming around the house and proceeded to plant hundreds on the farm.
Since moving to lovely Orcas Island, together, Carol and Allan have shaped three acres of fallow hay, into a healthy and productive flower farm with two orchards and a lively boutique nursery and farm stand where you can purchase plants, fresh eggs, and bouquets. Recently featured in Sunset Magazine, Carol and Allan invite you to visit The Little Farm on Olga Road to stroll their gardens, pick flowers, enjoy the views with a glass of organic wine, or visit Carol’s nursery to purchase unique plants, learn about garden design and growing techniques from Carol and her team.
